Pengaruh Penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Word Square Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Kelas III

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the Word Square cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in subjects taught at the elementary and secondary school levels. The Word Square learning model is a cooperative strategy that combines visual, verbal, and group activity elements in completing word boxes containing concepts of learning materials. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observations of student activities during the learning process. The results showed that the implementation of Word Square had a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes. Students in the experimental class showed active involvement, critical thinking skills, and better understanding of concepts compared to the control class that used conventional methods. In addition, Word Square was able to create a pleasant learning atmosphere, strengthen cooperation between students, and motivate them to be more active in learning. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Word Square cooperative learning model is effectively implemented as an alternative learning strategy to improve learning outcomes and student activity
