PENGARUH STRATEGI GUIDED WRITING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS NARASI SISWA KELAS X MA HIDAYATUL MUBTADIIN JATI AGUNG LAMPUNG SELATAN TAHUN PELAJARAN 2025/2026

Abstrak

. This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Writing strategy on the narrative writing ability of tenth-grade students at MA Hidayatul Mubtadiin Jati Agung, South Lampung, in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study was motivated by the low writing performance of students, particularly in developing plot, characters, conflict, and appropriate language use. A quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design was employed, involving two groups: the experimental group, which received Guided Writing treatment, and the control group, which was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure improvement after the treatment. The results showed that the average posttest scores of the experimental group increased significantly compared to the control group. Students who received systematic guidance were able to construct story outlines, develop coherent plots, and correct linguistic errors through the revision process. Moreover, students demonstrated increased motivation and confidence as they felt supported throughout the writing stages. A t-test analysis indicated a significant difference between the two groups, confirming that the Guided Writing strategy positively influences students’ narrative writing ability. The study recommends Guided Writing as an effective instructional strategy to improve narrative text quality and enhance students’ overall writing performance.
