Penerapan Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa dalam Pembelajaran PKn Kelas IV MI PSM Marta Jaya

Abstrak

Abstract This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning in improving student learning outcomes in Citizenship Education (PKn) subjects in class IV Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) PSM Marta Jaya. The research method used is an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample for this research was two class IV classes selected randomly, one class as an experimental group that received learning using the TPS approach, and one class as a control group that received conventional learning. The instruments used to collect data were student learning achievement tests and observation sheets to observe student activities during learning. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques.

The research results show that the implementation of TPS type cooperative learning significantly improves student learning outcomes compared to conventional learning. The average posttest score of the experimental group (which used the TPS approach) was higher than the average posttest score of the control group (which used conventional learning). In addition, observations of student activities show that learning using the TPS approach encourages active participation and collaboration between students in achieving understanding of the material.

These findings indicate that the application of TPS type cooperative learning can be an effective alternative in improving student learning outcomes in Civics subjects at the elementary school level. The implication of this research is the importance of a learning approach that is oriented towards collaboration and social interaction in achieving optimal learning goals. It is recommended for teachers to consider using the TPS approach as a learning strategy that can improve the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes in the context of citizenship education. Future research could involve larger samples and a variety of data collection methods to deepen understanding of the effectiveness of TPS-type cooperative learning in various educational contexts.
