Abstract

The Role of Parents in Educating Children in the Family

The role of parents in educating children in the family is very important because the guidance of parents will influence the child. The family is normatively the earliest informal educational environment and is entirely the responsibility of the parents. The child acts as a student and the parent as an educator. The way parents treat their children also affects the child's personality and intelligence. This is especially true in Islamic Religious Education which will influence the child's Learning Achievement at school.The purpose of this research is:To determine the Guidance of Parents whose children are in grade IV.To determine the Learning Achievement of Students in the subject of Islamic Religious Education.To determine the Influence of Parental Guidance on Student Learning Achievement in the subject of Islamic Religious Education in grade IV.The hypothesis proposed in this research is:If the influence of Parental Guidance on their children who are in grade IV of SD Negeri Kota Kulon III is good, then the Learning Achievement of Students in the subject of Islamic Religious Education will be good. In other words, Parental Guidance has a high influence on Student Learning Achievement in grade IV of SD Negeri Kota Kulon III Garut Kota.The method used in this research is:Descriptive method.Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and questionnaires.Data processing techniques in this research are by using quantitative data.From the results of the analysis of variable X, it is obtained that:Parental Guidance is highly qualified, as evidenced by the average overall answer of variable X, which is 75.25 because it is in the interval 60 - 80.Variable Y concerning Student Learning Achievement in the subject of Religious Education:Viewed from cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and odd semester report card grades 2010-2011, the average is very good.
