Learning ethics and morals is an important aspect of student education in junior high school (SMP), considering the moral challenges faced by teenagers today. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing collaborative learning in improving students' understanding of ethics and morals at Nurul Huda Middle School, Batang Hari sub-district. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with a qualitative approach. Data was collected through participant observation, field notes, and interviews with students and teachers involved in the learning process. The research results show that the implementation of collaborative learning can make a significant contribution in increasing students' understanding of ethics and morals in junior high schools. In the initial stage of the research, ethical and moral concepts were identified that would be integrated into learning. These concepts include values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy and mutual respect. Next, the design and implementation of learning activities involving interactions between students, group discussions, and collaborative projects are carried out which are designed to strengthen understanding of ethical and moral concepts. During the learning process, researchers are actively involved in observing and recording students' development and the dynamics of interactions between them. Participatory observation allows researchers to gain a deep understanding of how collaborative learning takes place in practice and how students respond to it. In addition, interviews with students and teachers also provide valuable insight into their experiences during the learning process. Data analysis was carried out inductively, where the collected data was analyzed in depth to identify emerging patterns and findings. The results of this analysis show that the implementation of collaborative learning is effective in increasing the ethical and moral understanding of MP Nurul Huda students in Batang Hari subdistrict. Students who engage in collaborative learning show improvements in their understanding of ethical and moral concepts, and demonstrate behavior that is more consistent with those values. These findings can serve as a basis for the development of more effective and inclusive learning practices in addressing moral and ethical challenges among adolescent students. Thus, collaborative learning has an important role in shaping students' character and morals as an integral part of education.
