ANALISIS PENGEMBANGAN EKONOMI MASYARAKAT MELALUI BADAN USAHA MILIK DESA (BUMDES) (Studi Pada Warung (Bumdes) Sehati Di Desa Margorejo Kecamatan Jati Agung Kabupaten Lampung Selatan)

Abstract

The agricultural sector is a leading sector because the majority of Indonesia’s population earns a living as farmers. Banjar Agung Village is one of the villages that cultivates a large number of horticultural crops, including vegetables, which have recently become the leading products among farmers with the hope of improving economic scale and achieving a more prosperous life.

This research is categorized as field research. The data sources used are primary and secondary data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The population in this study consists of all residents of Banjar Agung Village who work as farmers, totaling 167 farmers, while the sample used in this study consists of 25 farmers.

Based on the research conducted, it is known that the implementation of farmers’ economic empowerment in Banjar Agung, carried out through several development efforts including improving access to productive assets and market access, can increase farmers’ income. In addition, training programs provided by the government and agricultural extension officers can enhance farmers’ experience and knowledge regarding crop pests and new technologies. As farming enterprises develop, they positively affect the farmers’ welfare, resulting in improvements in economic income, education, health, and housing. Meanwhile, from the perspective of Islamic economics, the activities in these training programs are considered efforts to improve human resource quality, and the economic activities of the farmers are in accordance with Islamic economic principles, namely honesty, environmental sustainability, and providing wages to workers, thereby supporting community economic development.
