Abstract
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in the Indonesian economy, particularly in the food sector. Through an Islamic economic perspective, this research aims to explore the contribution of food sector MSMEs to community welfare. Data shows that the MSME sector absorbs over 97% of the workforce and contributes about 60% to the national gross domestic product (GDP). This study analyzes how MSMEs not only provide job opportunities but also meet food needs sustainably and ethically. Furthermore, the social and spiritual aspects in Islamic economics encourage MSMEs to operate under principles of justice and welfare, which in turn contributes to the development of better communities. Therefore, this research emphasizes the need for support for MSMEs to optimize their contributions to community welfare within the framework of Islamic economics.
