PENGARUH BIAYA AGENSI TERHADAP KEBIJAKAN DEVIDEN (Studi Pada Perusahaan Sektor Industri Barang Konsumsi Yang Terdaftar di daftar Efek Syariah)
Abstract
Agency is an agreement relationship in which one or more people (principal) assigns another person (agent) to do some work in their interests which involves delegating some of the agent's decision-making authority. This research aims to look at the influence of agency on dividend policy. This research uses qualitative methods. From the results of data processing and data analysis in research studies on companies in the consumer goods industry listed on the Sharia Securities List for 2022-2023, it can be concluded that: The greater the institutional share ownership, the greater the dividend policy determined. The existence of institutional owners is expected to be able to carry out an effective monitoring function on company management. The fewer dividends distributed because there are managers who are also shareholders makes the company more careful in acting and making decisions. These results show that the increasing distribution of shareholders results in difficulties in monitoring company performance, and one alternative used to resolve this problem is to pay dividends, thereby reducing the amount of retained earnings
