The Effect of Applying Word Square Type Cooperative Learning

Abstract

In the world of education the teacher is a political person, a
guide ,and creates a conducive and pleasant learning atmosphere. In
fact, at this time teachers use conventional methods, in situations like
this doing learning in the field of social sciences (social studies), it can
be seen that in social studies subjects there are still many students
whose learning process has not been completed and is still low. For
this reason, the word square learning method is used in the learning
process.
The purpose of this study was to find out how much influence the
application of the word s quare learning model has on the learning
outcomes of students of social studies subjects. Compared to students
who use conventional methods. this research was conducted at MIS
AL HIKMAHBANDAR LAMPUNG for the 2020/2021 learning
yearLearning outcomes of students who learned using the word square
learning model were higher, compared to students who learned using
conventional methods.
The results of the calculations carried out with the help of SPSS 20
found out the t value after a paired sample T-test analysis of 6.718.
Then judging from the value of Sig. (2 tailed) of 0.000 and according
to the basis of the decision-making criteria "if the significance value <
0.05 (5%), then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted
