Abstract

This research is motivated by concerns that so
far, science learning at the Ibtidaiyah Madrasah level is
felt to be one of the subjects that is difficult for students
to understand. This is due to the lack of teacher skills in
science learning, the strategies used are conventional,
learning achievement is less increased, learning media is
less interesting and interactive, due to one of the causes of
low student learning motivation. To follow up on the
problem of science learning at the MI level, it is
necessary to take action, one alternative that can be used
is to apply the snowball throwing type cooperative
learning learning model. The type of research used is
classroom action research (PTK). with researchers as
teachers. The purpose of the study was to determine the
motivation to learn science in MI GUPPI students. The
formulation of the research problem is whether the
application of the snowball throwing type cooperative
learning model can increase the learning motivation of
students in grade IV science subjects at MI GUPPI. The
data collection techniques used in this study were
questionnaires, observations, interviews and
documentation. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques
used in this action research use descriptive quantitative.
