Abstract

In the era of progress in the field of Science and
Technology (IPTEK) the awareness of education managers and
the public towards the importance of learning achievement is
increasing. The learning achievements achieved by students are
influenced by various factors, including student intelligence,
learning motivation, teacher provesionality, student health,
infrastructure, parents' economy, environment, quality of
learning, teacher competence etc. In the teaching and learning
process to achieve student learning achievement is not only
determined by the school, pattern, structure, and content of the
curriculum, but it requires the professional competence of the
teachers who teach, educate and guide them, this is in
accordance with the opinion that: "The duties of the teacher as
a profession include educating, teaching, and training."
Teaching is the interaction between teacher and student using
various strategies, approaches, methods. in order to create a
pleasant learning atmosphere. The results showed that the
snowball throwing type of cooperative learning model can
increase the motivation to learn science class VIB in
Banjarsari. It can be seen from the results of the action of cycle
I (Motivation score = 69.5% (including the category is quite
good); in cycle II (Motivation score = 78.57% (including good
category); the score difference between cycle I and cycle II
was 10.7%. Thus, it can be concluded that the snowball
throwing type of cooperative learning model can increase the
motivation to learn science for class VI students, on the
material of human organs, animals and plants.
